Nexio: Work Journal — Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 16, 2026
Nexio ("we", "our", or "the app") is a privacy-first AI work journal. We are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
- Voice recordings: When you use the record feature, your audio is sent to our secure backend server solely for transcription. Audio is processed in real time and is never stored on our servers.
- Journal entries: Text content, due dates, people mentioned, priorities, and tags are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. We do not have access to your journal entries.
- Location: If you grant location permission, your approximate location is attached to journal entries as a human-readable label (e.g., "Hanam-si"). Location data is stored only on your device.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Voice audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription and to GPT-4o-mini for structuring. OpenAI processes this data per their privacy policy.
- We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.
- No user accounts or registration are required.
3. Data Storage
All journal data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate cloud storage for user journal content. If you delete the app, all data is removed.
4. Third-Party Services
- OpenAI — for voice transcription and AI structuring
- Apple CLGeocoder — for converting GPS coordinates to location labels (on-device)
5. Children's Privacy
Nexio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
